## Slip resistance comparable to tile

Polished concrete has a coefficient of friction similar to many ceramic and porcelain tiles. It’s not slick when dry. When wet, it’s no more dangerous than other finished hard floors. For wet-area concerns (entryways, kitchens), a penetrating stain-guard sealer with anti-slip additive can be specified.

The reflective sheen makes polished concrete look more slippery than it actually is. Walk on a sample at our shop or a previous install and you’ll feel the actual grip — it’s reassuring.

## Maintenance is genuinely minimal

Polished Concrete

 requires very little upkeep:

- **Daily:** Sweep or vacuum.
- **Weekly or as needed:** Damp mop with pH-neutral cleaner.
- **Every 3-5 years:** Refresh the topical stain-guard if used.

That’s it. No waxing. No sanding. No coating refresh. The floor is the slab, hardened and sealed.

For commercial spaces with very high traffic, occasional re-burnishing (running a high-speed pad over the floor) restores the shine. Most residential floors never need it.

The biggest mistake homeowners make is using strong cleaners — bleach, ammonia, citrus. These degrade the sealer. Stick to pH-neutral and the floor stays beautiful for decades.

## Frequently Asked Questions

Is polished concrete dangerous when wet? +

No more than any finished floor. A penetrating stain-guard keeps water from sitting on the surface.

Can I use bleach or strong cleaners? +

No — they degrade the sealer. Use pH-neutral cleaner only.

How often does it need resealing? +

Stain-guard topical sealers may need a refresh every 3-5 years. The lithium-silicate densifier doesn't need reapplication.
