Cool-deck spray vs polyaspartic pool deck comparison

Two different paths to the same goal

Both finishes deliver an Austin pool deck that looks great and stays usable through Texas summers. They get there differently.

Cool-deck spray texture is acrylic-cement applied as a knockdown finish. It’s specifically engineered for pool decks: heat reflection, slip resistance, water tolerance. It’s lower cost, looks great, and needs reseal every 3-5 years.

Polyaspartic coating is industrial chemistry sealed over the slab. It’s UV-stable, color-stable, abrasion-resistant. Initial cost is higher but it can go longer between resealing.

How to choose

Use Pool Deck Resurfacing cool-deck when:

  • Heat reduction is the top priority
  • Budget matters
  • You’re okay with reseal every 3-5 years

Use polyaspartic when:

  • You want longer life per coat
  • Modern, sealed look matters
  • You’re combining with heat-reflective flake or pigment

Both can be specified for slip resistance. Both are durable. We’ll quote both ways if you’re undecided so the comparison is concrete.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which is cheaper? +
