Our Approach to Countertops

Custom concrete countertops for kitchens, bars, and baths - precast in the shop or cast in place, with custom color, edges, and aggregate, then food-safe sealed for everyday use.

One-of-a-Kind Kitchen, Bar, and Bath Surfaces

Austin Concrete Finishes has built concrete countertops across the Austin metro since 2005. Each surface is a craft alternative to quartz, granite, and butcher block - shaped to your kitchen layout, colored to your palette, and detailed with the edge profile you choose, from eased and bullnose to chiseled rock face. No two are the same.

Precast vs. Cast-in-Place Fabrication

Most Austin kitchens get precast GFRC (glass fiber reinforced concrete) slabs - built in our shop, cured under controlled conditions, then installed on-site. Precast gives the cleanest finish and the fewest surprises. For outdoor bars and long-run surfaces in Westlake and Lakeway homes, cast-in-place is often the better call. We’ll recommend the method that fits your space.

Food-Safe Sealing for Everyday Use

A bare concrete countertop will stain. A properly sealed one won’t. The Austin Concrete Finishes team applies professional-grade penetrating food-safe sealers that block oils, acids, and pigments - the same industrial sealers used on high-end kitchen remodels across Barton Creek and Cedar Park. Care is simple - wipe spills, avoid abrasive scrubbers, and the surface looks as good in year 10 as it did at install.

FAQ

Countertops: Your Questions Answered

Are concrete countertops durable enough for daily kitchen use? +

Yes. Properly sealed concrete countertops resist stains, heat, and everyday wear. The food-safe sealer is the critical step - and we use professional-grade sealers, not consumer ones.

Should I choose precast or cast-in-place for my countertop? +

Precast (shop-built) gives the cleanest finish and is the right call for most indoor kitchens. Cast-in-place works best for outdoor bars, fireplace surrounds, and long-run surfaces where you want zero seams.

Will it stain from coffee or wine? +

With food-safe sealer, no - accidents wipe right up. We walk you through care so the sealer keeps performing for years.

How much do concrete countertops cost in Austin? +

Every project is custom, so pricing depends on square footage, edge profile, color, and whether we precast or cast in place. We provide free quotes - typically same-day for straightforward kitchens (2026 pricing).
