Concrete Overlays & Micro-Toppings in Austin
Thin micro-toppings and self-levelers for smooth, modern concrete finishes.

Our Approach to Overlays
Micro-toppings and self-leveling overlays give a smooth, modern finish over existing concrete — 1/8" to 3/8" thick. Great for interiors that need a fresh surface and exteriors that need a refined look without a full tear-out.
Thin overlays for a fresh, modern surface
Micro-toppings and self-leveling overlays are the path to a modern concrete look without tearing out the slab. They go down 1/8” to 3/8” thick, bond mechanically to the substrate, and accept color, polish, or seal.
Where overlays shine
Interior floors that need a fresh surface and a modern troweled look. Exterior patios that need a refined finish over a tired slab. Spaces with uneven concrete that need a self-leveler to bring the surface back to level. We’ve used overlays as the substrate for staining, polishing, and stamped systems too.
Built to bond, sealed to last
The bond between overlay and slab is everything. We diamond-grind, apply a bonding primer, and trowel the polymer-modified mix in one continuous pour. Once cured, the surface is ready for color, polish, or sealer — whatever finish you’re going for.

Lakeway
"Polished our downstairs floors to a soft satin sheen. Easy to clean, and they clearly did the prep right. No shortcuts."

FAQ
Overlays: Your Questions Answered
How thin can an overlay be? +
Micro-toppings start at about 1/8 inch. Self-levelers are usually 1/4 to 3/8 inch but can build up where needed to flatten an uneven slab.
Can I stain a micro-topping? +
Yes — a smooth troweled micro-topping takes acid stain or water-based dye beautifully. It's a popular path to a modern, hand-finished concrete look.
Is an overlay durable? +
Yes, when properly bonded and sealed. We use polymer-modified cementitious mixes that bond mechanically to the prepped substrate.
