Polyaspartic Coatings That Beat Texas UV
Fast-curing, UV-stable polyaspartic and polyurea coatings.
Last Updated:
Our Approach to Polyaspartic
Polyaspartic (aliphatic polyurea) coatings cure fast and stay UV-stable, so they don't yellow under Texas sun the way standard epoxy can. We use them as topcoats over epoxy and as standalone systems for sun-exposed concrete.
The coating built for Texas sun
Polyaspartic — technically an aliphatic polyurea — cures fast, blocks UV, and stays color-stable. Plain epoxy is a great basecoat, but it yellows under sun. Outdoors in Austin, polyaspartic is what we reach for.
Same-day cure when timing matters
A standalone polyaspartic install can be done in a single day, with foot traffic within hours and parking within 24. That makes it the right call for commercial spaces where downtime is expensive and for homeowners who don’t want a week of taped-off concrete.
Topcoat over epoxy
The other common use is as a clear topcoat over a flake-epoxy garage floor. The epoxy gives the bond and color, the polyaspartic gives the UV protection and faster cure. That combo is the most durable garage floor system we install.
What you get
- ✓ Same-day cure in many conditions
- ✓ UV-stable — resists yellowing outdoors
- ✓ High abrasion resistance
- ✓ Often paired as a topcoat over flake epoxy

What Customers Say
Austin Customers on Their Finished Concrete
"Our 20-year-old garage slab had peeling DIY epoxy. They ground it all back, fixed the cracks, and the new flake floor still looks showroom-clean through two Texas summers."
David R.
Round Rock
"The pool deck stays cool enough to walk on barefoot in August now, and it's no longer slick. Exactly what we hoped for."
Sarah M.
Lakeway
"Polished our downstairs floors to a soft satin sheen. Easy to clean, and they clearly did the prep right. No shortcuts."

FAQ
Polyaspartic: Your Questions Answered
What's the difference between polyaspartic and epoxy? +
Polyaspartic cures faster, blocks UV, and stays color-stable outdoors. Epoxy is a great basecoat and bond layer but yellows under sun. We often use both — epoxy below, polyaspartic on top.
Can I park the same day? +
For most polyaspartic-finished garages, foot traffic happens the same day and you can park within 24 hours. Pure polyaspartic systems are the fastest.
Is polyaspartic worth the extra cost? +
If the floor sees Texas sun (outdoor patios, pool decks, garages near big doors), yes. The UV stability and faster cure usually justify the price.
